Police are investigating a tragic fatal crash on the A257 near Wingham, East Kent, that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist. The collision occurred at around 8:30 AM on Tuesday, 4 March 2025, involving a Yamaha motorbike and a grey Lexus at Shatterling, between Wingham and Ash.

Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, but despite their efforts, the rider, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the location.

The A257 was closed for several hours to allow officers to carry out a serious collision investigation. The road was reopened just after 4:00 PM, after causing significant delays for commuters throughout the day.

Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit has launched an appeal for witnesses. They are asking anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
