A man in his 50s was left fighting for his life after a shocking three-vehicle collision on the A2 coastbound near Dartford on Thursday afternoon, 13 June.

The crash occurred around 4:30pm between junction 2 of the M25 and Old Bexley Lane. Emergency crews rushed to the scene where a black Triumph motorcycle, an orange KTM 360 motorcycle, and a green Mini Cooper had collided.

Police confirmed the rider of the Triumph motorcycle sustained serious injuries and remains hospitalised. The second biker, a man in his 30s, is reported to be stable but shaken following the incident.

Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) has launched an urgent appeal for witnesses. They are keen to hear from anyone who saw the crash or the motorcycles prior to the collision.

A spokesperson said, “Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.” Investigators are particularly interested in information regarding the two motorcycles before the crash.

Those with information are asked to contact the SCIU appeal line on 01622 798538 or email [email protected]. Please reference case number XX/SC/040/25 when providing details.

The crash caused significant traffic delays during the evening rush hour. Traffic was diverted while emergency services worked to clear the scene and assist the injured.

Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes until normal traffic flow is restored.
