A serious crash involving a car and a motorcycle on the M23 southbound has resulted in a man being seriously injured. The collision occurred at around 9.10pm on Wednesday 20 October near Pease Pottage.
Sussex police are currently investigating the cause of the crash, which remains unknown. Authorities are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or captured it on dashcam to come forward. Witnesses are asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting Operation Maywood.
Due to the severity of the crash and poor conditions at the scene, the M23 motorway is closed in both directions between Crawley and Pease Pottage. Drivers are advised to expect long delays and to seek alternative routes while highways crews work on clearing the area. The closure is expected to last for several hours.
