A child and a pedestrian were injured when a bus collided with a man on Kidbrooke Park Road this afternoon. The incident prompted a major emergency response from local authorities.
The Metropolitan Police received reports at around 1:23pm on Sunday, 23 February, that a male pedestrian had been hit by a bus. Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service arrived promptly to provide medical assistance to those injured.
Kidbrooke Park Road was closed for approximately one hour to allow emergency crews to work safely at the scene. The road reopened shortly after 2:30pm.
Police confirmed that both the pedestrian and a child passenger on the bus were taken to hospital. Fortunately, their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
“Police were called at 13:23hrs on Sunday, 23 February to an incident where a male pedestrian was hit by a bus on Kidbrooke Park Road, SE3. A road closure was put in place while emergency services attended the scene. Both the pedestrian and a child passenger on the bus were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing,” said a Metropolitan Police spokesperson.
The police are treating the collision as accidental but have not ruled out any possibilities. They are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to come forward to assist with the investigation.
Local residents have expressed concerns about pedestrian safety on Kidbrooke Park Road, recalling several previous accidents in the area.
