A 14-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash on Raw Lane, Illingworth, Halifax. The teenager suffered multiple injuries, including a broken arm, when he was struck by a car while crossing the road.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:15pm on Friday, October 25. West Yorkshire Police report that the vehicle involved is believed to be a black Range Rover. Witnesses say the car turned left onto Raw Lane from Keighley Road before hitting the boy.
After the collision, the driver fled the scene immediately, leaving the injured teenager behind. Emergency services attended the scene and the boy was taken to hospital where he remains in serious condition.
Officers from the Roads Policing Unit are urgently seeking witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the crash. Anyone who saw the incident or the suspect vehicle is asked to contact West Yorkshire Police on 101 or via their LiveChat service, quoting reference 1628 of October 25.
Authorities are appealing for information to help identify and locate the reckless driver and to understand the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
