Sussex Police are investigating a serious collision involving two cars, a pedestrian, and a dog on Freshfield Road, Brighton. The incident took place just before 6pm on Thursday, May 22, near Patching Lodge.

A Vauxhall Corsa, driven by a 62-year-old woman from Brighton, collided with a Mercedes. Following the collision, the Corsa mounted the pavement and struck a 59-year-old man who was walking his dogs. Both the pedestrian and one of the dogs sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The woman driving the Vauxhall Corsa is currently in critical condition in hospital. The driver of the Mercedes was uninjured in the crash.

Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses to help establish the circumstances that led to this collision. A police spokesperson said, “We are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen the events leading up to or during the collision.”
