Two men have been jailed after running the notorious ‘Charlie’ drugs ring, Sussex Police confirmed today.
The crackdown on the drug operation began in May 2025 when police intercepted mobile phone intelligence indicating suspicious drug activity.
Investigators quickly traced the operation back to 23-year-old Charlie Harris from Crawley, who was identified as the mastermind behind the ring.
Ross Sandwell, 42, from Saltdean, Brighton, was also arrested for holding the mobile phone used to coordinate the drug deals.
On 14 May 2025, Sussex Police collaborated with the Metropolitan Police to conduct raids on homes in Brighton and Crawley.
During the raids, officers seized numerous mobile phones, SIM cards, cannabis, and cash linked to the drug line.
