The City of London Police have arrested and charged two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, following a major cybercrime investigation targeting a hacking group.
Both teens remain in police custody as authorities continue to probe the case, which involves serious allegations of computer misuse and fraud.
Detective Inspector Michael O’Sullivan confirmed the charges today, detailing the offences brought against the young suspects. These include three counts of unauthorised access to a computer with intent to impair data reliability, one count of fraud by false representation, and one count of unauthorised access intending to hinder data access.
Additionally, the 16-year-old faces an extra charge of causing a computer to execute unauthorised access.
The two teenagers are scheduled to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court this morning, 1 April 2022. The City of London Police have emphasized their ongoing commitment to cracking down on cyber offenders who target critical data systems.
