Teen Drug Dealer Busted After Trying to Leg It from Police in Huntingdon

Officers Spot Suspicious Deal

Huntingdon Neighbourhood Policing Team were on patrol in Oxmoor on 9 April after getting reports of drug dealing. They spotted 18-year-old Irmantas Gespautas chatting with two known drug users. When the officers approached, Gespautas made a dash for it.

Quick Search Leads to Drug Haul

The police searched the area, found Gespautas hiding in The Whaddons, and arrested him for a stop-search. When asked if he had any drugs, the teen admitted: “Yes I have drugs, I found them and I wanted to sell them.”

Crack and Heroin Found – Teen Charged

The search uncovered nine wraps of crack cocaine and heroin. Gespautas, with no fixed address, was arrested for possession with intent to supply class A drugs. He later pleaded guilty.

Youth Locked Up for a Year

On Wednesday 5 June, Gespautas appeared at Cambridge Crown Court. The judge sentenced the teen to 12 months in a Young Offenders Institution, ending his street dealing days—for now.
