Noel Radford, the father featured on Channel 5’s popular show 22 Kids and Counting, has been fined following a court case in Lancaster. The father of Britain’s largest family was penalised for refusing to disclose who was driving during a speeding offence.

Prosecutor Malcolm Isherwood stated that Radford’s Porsche was recorded travelling at 52 mph in a 40 mph zone on the A683 Bay Gateway in Torrisholme, Morecambe, in November 2023. Despite receiving official letters about the incident, Radford did not reveal the identity of the driver involved.

At court, Radford appeared in a casual grey jumper and trainers, representing himself. He pleaded guilty to failing to provide driver details but remained silent on the speeding charge, which was later dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service.

The judge imposed a £900 fine, six penalty points on Radford’s licence, a £360 surcharge, and £200 in court costs, amounting to a total of £1,460. Radford is scheduled to pay this amount in three instalments by January 2025.

Radford had missed his initial trial date in September, which resulted in a postponement. The court has now cautioned him that failure to meet the payment deadlines could lead to further legal consequences.

Supporters of the Radford family are likely to follow this case closely as it adds another chapter to the family’s public life.
