Hero cops dive into freezing Thames to save struggling woman
Two Kingston police officers have been hailed heroes after plunging into the chilly River Thames to rescue a woman swept downstream on Friday afternoon.
Quick-thinking heroes launch daring water rescue
At 4.31pm on April 13, cops rushed to Portsmouth Road, Kingston, following urgent reports of a woman struggling in the river. Spotting her being swept a long way downstream, the brave officers didn’t hesitate. They jumped straight into the cold waters to haul her to safety.
Life-saving first aid and swift hospital care
After pulling the woman ashore, the officers administered vital first aid before paramedics arrived. She was rushed to a west London hospital, where her condition is now stable. Her family have been informed and are by her side.
