Taxi Driver Robbed in Southsea at 3.45am

Police are hunting three men who robbed a taxi driver in Southsea in the early hours of Friday, December 9.

Thieves Strike After Drop-Off

At 3.45am, the driver dropped off a passenger at 1 Crescent. Moments later, three men jumped into his cab, snatched his change bag and wallet, then bolted.

Suspect Description and Stolen Cash

The main suspect stands around 6ft tall, pale complexion, and wore a hoody. Detective Constable David Sheppard said the thieves made off with about £100.

Police Warn Taxi Drivers to Stay Alert

“I would remind taxi drivers to always be aware of their vehicle’s security, even when they don’t have passengers,” DC Sheppard said. “We want to hear from anyone who saw this or knows who was involved.”
