£3,000 Stolen in Brazen Basingstoke Hammer Heist – Police Hunt Masked Duo
Two masked men struck fear into a Basingstoke convenience store last Sunday, making off with nearly £3,000 in cash. The robbery happened just after 10pm at the McColls on Elmwood Parade, where the pair threatened staff for the money.
Hammer-Wielding Bandit and Partner on the Run
One thug, armed with a hammer, was described as stocky, 5ft 7ins, aged around 45-50, wearing red gloves, a dark blue sweatshirt, and a black balaclava. His accomplice, unarmed and skinny, stood about the same height, aged 20-30, sporting a blue hooded jacket and also covering his face with a black balaclava.
Escape with £3,000 in Quilt Cover
The pair fled the scene carrying cash in what witnesses described as a quilt cover. Police want to hear from anyone who spotted two men matching this description lugging a bulky item through Winklebury, especially between Elmwood Parade and Warwick Road just after 10.15pm.
