Emergency services were called to a property in Highgate, King’s Lynn, at around 12.30am on Saturday, 16 April, after a woman in her 50s was found seriously injured inside the home.
The victim was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn but sadly died from her injuries.
A Home Office post-mortem carried out on Saturday confirmed the cause of death as stab wounds to the abdomen. The victim has been provisionally identified as 50-year-old Dace Kalkerte from King’s Lynn.
Police arrested three individuals on Saturday in connection with the case: a man in his 50s, a woman in her 50s, and a man in his 40s. Birute Klicneliene, 50, of Sir Lewis Street, King’s Lynn, has been charged with murder and remanded in custody. She is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 19 April.
The two men have been released under investigation as inquiries continue.
Officers believe the victim and the suspects were known to each other. A police cordon remains in place at the Highgate property and is expected to stay for several days.
