A 23-year-old man from Handsworth, Birmingham, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after being convicted of multiple child rapes and hoarding hundreds of indecent images involving children.
The victim bravely came forward to report years of sexual abuse, which led to the arrest of Mohammed Ali and a full police investigation.
During a raid on Ali’s home on Onisbury Road, officers discovered 443 indecent photos and videos stored on his phone. Of these, 250 were classified as Category A, the most serious and harmful type of child abuse material.
Ali pleaded guilty to eight counts of rape, including four attacks on a boy under the age of 13. He also admitted to distributing child abuse images.
On November 27, Birmingham Crown Court sentenced Mohammed Ali to 18 years in prison, consisting of 12 years in custody followed by six years on licence.
West Midlands Police emphasized that this case sends a clear message that anyone who harms children will be brought to justice, regardless of circumstances.
