More than a dozen dealers were caught running a massive drug ring, flooding Eastwood and Broxtowe with over ten kilos of cocaine and heroin hauled from across the UK.

The notorious ‘Kinsella’ and ‘Eastwood’ organised crime groups controlled the operation. Led by Michael Kinsella and Jeffery Bradwell, they sold cocaine and heroin to users all over Nottinghamshire.

Brothers Daniel and a Special Operations Unit helped run the illegal trade, with couriers Nigel Sisson and Dale Wright handling deliveries and cash collections. Sisson and Wright were nabbed on January 17, 2020, while transporting drugs and cash. Police also caught another gang member mid-act on March 14, 2020, chopping up cocaine blocks in his kitchen.

A follow-up raid on April 2 saw Jamie Moore and Fred Carvalho arrested after Carvalho delivered 2.5 kilos of cocaine to Nottingham, then returned with cash.

By March 31, 2022, five key players were convicted of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, with another guilty of laundering criminal cash.

Sentences handed down to notorious dealers include:

  • Lee Wright, 39, Eastwood – 11 years, 4 months
  • Adam Rhodes, 34, Eastwood – 10 years
  • David Bowen, 51 – 13 years
  • Nigel Sisson, 35, Kilburn – 7 years
  • Dominic Wright, 34, Eastwood – 12 years
  • Lewis Kelly, 30, West Bridgford – 8 years, 8 months
  • Jamie Moore, 32, Liverpool – 3 years, 4 months

Detective Inspector Mark Adas said: “These two organised crime groups worked together to become a major distribution arm of a drug dealing enterprise with reach across the country, sending tens of thousands of pounds-worth of harmful substances into communities across Nottinghamshire and beyond.

“They were dealing in substantial quantities of potent class A drugs and large sums of cash at any one time – a scale of criminality that often brings with it violence and misery for the communities in which they operate.

“By using an encrypted communications platform to coordinate their illicit activity, they thought they were going undetected, but when the EncroChat platform was taken down by law enforcement, the full scale of their offending was laid bare.

“This is only the first part of our action against these gangs. Next up, is seeking prosecution under the Proceeds of Crime Act, to ensure they do not benefit by a single penny from their crimes.”
