Police were called to Marlands Road, Ilford, at 3.54pm after reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers, assisted by London Ambulance Service paramedics, found a 20-year-old man with stab wounds.
The victim was promptly taken to an east London hospital. Fortunately, his injuries are not life-threatening.
A 12-year-old boy was arrested at the scene and taken into custody immediately.
On Friday, 12 March, the boy was charged with robbery and possession of a bladed article. He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Barkingside Youth Court on Saturday, 13 March.
