A woman has been rushed to hospital after a serious collision with a bus on the busy A30 London Road near Bagshot. Emergency services quickly closed the road in both directions to manage the crash scene and clear the resulting hazards.
The injured woman is believed to have sustained a broken leg and damaged ribs. Complicating the situation, acid from the bus’s batteries leaked onto the road, increasing the danger and disruption. The bus lost power, requiring recovery crews to manually release the brakes before towing the vehicle away.
Police confirmed that the A30 London Road is closed between B3029 High Street and the Miller & Carter area, causing significant traffic congestion. Officers are actively directing traffic while carrying out their investigation.
Adding to the disruption, a second collision involving three vehicles occurred on nearby New Road, Bagshot. Two people injured in this crash were also taken to Frimley Park Hospital. The closure of New Road has cut off access to the M3 from Widdlesham, forcing drivers to use local diversion routes.
South East Coast Ambulance Service described the situation as “double collision” chaos. A spokesperson said, “We were called just before 8:30am for a collision on the A30 involving a car and lorry. While attending, another crash happened right in front of our ambulance involving three vehicles, though not us. We dispatched another ambulance. Two patients, one from each collision, were taken to Frimley Park. Thankfully, neither is in a life-threatening condition.”
Police continue to investigate the incidents and the affected roads remain closed. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and follow all diversion signs.
