The blaze, which broke out in the kitchen, was reported at 11:48 by London Fire Brigade Control Officers who quickly dispatched teams from Whitechapel, Dowgate, Shoreditch and Bethnal Green fire stations.

One person was treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation. Swift Fire Response Crews arrived promptly and brought the fire under control, extinguishing it by 12:39. The London Fire Brigade confirmed the blaze was accidental, likely caused by cooking left unattended.

While firefighters remained at the scene, some traffic delays occurred on Whitechapel Road between New Road and Adler Street as emergency services managed the incident.

Officials emphasised the dangers of leaving cooking unattended, reminding businesses and residents to exercise caution to prevent similar fires.
