Heartbreaking scenes unfolded in Corby, Northamptonshire, after 13-year-old Ella Walden tragically died following a serious fall from an e-bike in the town centre.

Ella’s family paid an emotional tribute to their daughter, describing her as an amazing and strong-willed girl taken far too soon. They said, “Our lives will never be complete again after losing our beautiful Ella. She was the most amazing, strong-willed, feisty girl, with the most precious smile.”

The family added, “Ella had an infectious personality and could light up even the emptiest room. She made a lasting impression on everyone she met, and you could hear her before you saw her, so life is so quiet without her.”

Ella was passionate about performing and loved being in the spotlight. Her family shared, “Ella was incredibly loyal and always stood up for what she believed in. She had a kind heart and was always there for anyone who was struggling.”

They concluded, “To the world she was Ella, but to us she was the world. Life will forever have a space without her, but her memory will live on with us all forever.”

Northamptonshire Police confirmed that Ella was rushed to hospital after the incident on Tuesday afternoon, April 7, but sadly died soon after. The collision occurred around 3 pm on Elizabeth Street, Corby.

A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and road traffic offences. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses and have urged anyone who saw the incident or has CCTV or dash cam footage to come forward. A spokesperson said, “Please quote incident number 26000198505 when passing on any information to make sure it gets to the right person as quickly as possible.”
