Snow Alert Hits South East and South West Tonight
A fresh blast of snow is set to hit the South East and South West of England from midnight on 8 March until 3am on 9 March. Drivers are warned to check conditions and expect disruption on the roads.
Light Snow Turning Heavy on Hills
A band of snow will push northwards into the South West and South East tonight. Most areas will see light snow with 1-2cm expected, but modest hills like Haldon Hill could see 2-5cm. The snow will ease by morning but brace for a heavier second wave through the afternoon and evening.
Devon will likely see the snow retreat, but further east of the M5, it could be long-lasting and heavy, especially during rush hour. Drivers should watch out for slippery slopes and possible build-ups of 2-5cm, with 8-10cm on hills in the North Wessex Downs, Surrey Hills, and North Downs.
