Storm Alert: Southeast England Braces for Torrential Rain and Gale-Force Winds

Met Office Issues Severe Weather Warning

The Met Office has slammed a rain and wind warning on southeast England for Saturday evening. Prepare for a battering as intense downpours and fierce winds roar in.

What the Warning Says

Expect 10 to 15mm of rain in just half an hour, with winds gusting between 40-45mph. Closer to the south coast, gusts could hit a brutal 50-55mph. This cocktail of chaos will cause tricky travel conditions all evening.

Some flooding is possible on roads, along with a few fallen branches,” the Met Office warns. Thankfully, conditions will ease gradually from the west.

Travel Mayhem Incoming

  • Roads will suffer from spray, flooding, and fallen branches – slowing you down.
  • Bus and train services are likely to face delays and cancellations.
  • Power cuts might hit some areas, adding to Saturday night misery.

Brace yourselves and plan ahead. Don’t let the weather catch you out!
