The London Fire Brigade confirmed the fire obliterated the ground floor, first floor, and roof of the two-storey end-of-terrace house. The damage was described as devastating.

Three Suffer Smoke Inhalation, Rushed to Hospital

Among the victims were a woman, a man, and a boy who all struggled with smoke inhalation. They received urgent treatment at the scene by paramedics before being hospitalised.

Heroic Firefighters Prevent Explosion

Fire crews used a 32-metre turntable ladder to fight the flames from above. In a nail-biting moment, they cooled down a 15kg gas cylinder to stop a catastrophic blast, safely removing it afterwards.

Rapid Response Ends Two-Hour Nightmare

The first emergency call came in at 4:04am. Crews from nine stations including Sutton, Mitcham, and Wimbledon joined the fight. After two intense hours, the fire was finally extinguished by 6:06am, preventing further disaster.
