Romsey Hair Salon Scores £1,000 Boost from Test Valley Council!

Inspirations Hair Design Lands Big Grant

Victoria Smith-Dowse of Inspirations Hair Design has bagged the second £1,000 payout from the Test Valley Borough Council’s Independent Retailer Grant. Victoria opened her new hair salon at Dukes Mill 1 Centre in Romsey last February, swapping her mobile setup for a permanent spot.

From Cruise Ships to Cutting Hair in Romsey

Victoria’s journey is impressive. After styling on cruise liners and building her freelance business, she grabbed the Romsey unit as soon as it was free. Her salon is quickly making waves in the local community.

Local Councillor Applauds The Success

Councillor Ian Richards said, “I’m really pleased to see that Inspirations has become an established salon in Romsey. The business is going from strength to strength and Victoria is building up an excellent client base. I wish her the best of luck for the future.”

How The £1,000 Grant Works

  • £500 paid after three months of trading
  • Another £500 after six months

To snag the grant, businesses must occupy a vacant town centre ground floor unit for at least a month. Eligible ventures include shops, hairdressers, and cafes. This initiative aims to breathe new life into the high street.
