Search for Missing 11-Year-Old Kaliyah Coa Enters Third Day

The desperate hunt for Kaliyah Coa, an 11-year-old girl last seen entering the River Thames, has stretched into its third day. Police have issued a fresh image of Kaliyah in a renewed public appeal to help find her.

What Happened?

The Metropolitan Police named Kaliyah on April 1, a day after she vanished. She was spotted going into the water near Barge House Causeway, close to London City Airport, at around 1:23 pm on Monday, March 31.

Kaliyah had been playing outside during a school inset day when she disappeared. Emergency teams quickly swarmed the scene, launching a major search effort. Despite their best efforts, the search was later scaled down to a recovery mission.

Police and Community Rally

Chief Superintendent Dan Card, policing commander for northeast London, said:

“Our specialist officers are supporting Kaliyah’s family through this deeply upsetting time, and our thoughts go out to all those impacted by what has happened.”

“We are committed to finding Kaliyah and are working with partners to conduct a thorough search over a wide area – utilising drone technology and boats.”

“I’d like to thank members of the public, first responders, and emergency services for their rapid and tireless efforts.”

Extra police officers will remain on the ground over the coming days to aid the search and reassure the local community.

Appeal for Information

Police urge anyone who saw Kaliyah or has any information about her disappearance to come forward immediately.

  • Call 101 quoting reference 3699/31Mar
  • In an emergency, dial 999

Community in Shock

The local area remains shaken by Kaliyah’s disappearance, with many expressing hope and sympathy for the young girl and her family. The shared picture aims to jog memories of anyone who might have seen her on the day she went missing.

Police thank everyone who has already provided information and continue to urge others to assist in the ongoing search.
