Vandals Smash Windows at Saltdean’s Whitecliffs Café
Late Tuesday night, chaos hit the Whitecliffs Café in Saltdean when thugs smashed its windows. The attack took place around 10:45pm on 24 March 2026, leaving staff and locals stunned.
Hammers Blamed for Rust-Weakened Window Damage
Masked vandals targeted the café’s windows using a hammer or similar metal object. They struck at spots already weakened by rust stains, causing serious damage. Staff vented their frustration online:
“We’re very disappointed that all our recent positive progress has been tarnished by thugs. We’re not in a financial position right now to replace windows, so we’ve made the area safe.”
Staff Turn Vandalism Into a Laughing Matter
Despite the blow, the café team kept their spirits up. They even introduced a cheeky new ‘staff member’—Stephanie Spider—who seems to have taken up residence in the café.
“We won’t let bullies dampen our success,” the café declared.
No arrests have been made, but locals are demanding swift justice and quick window repairs to bring Whitecliffs Café back to business as usual.
