A family’s morning in Basingstoke turned chaotic when a Renault Clio careered off the road and smashed through their front door. The incident occurred at around 7:55am on Belle Vue Road during the busy rush hour.
Inside the house, a middle-aged mother and her young son were trapped as the car crashed into the hallway. Two fire crews from Basingstoke and Hartley Wintney quickly responded to the scene. They assisted the frightened family in escaping and had to cut a 60-year-old man free from the wrecked vehicle.
South Central Ambulance Service reported that the male driver likely experienced a “medical event” which caused him to lose control and crash. He was taken to Basingstoke Hospital with injuries described as “non life-threatening.”
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported for the family inside the house.
