Police are hunting for Shuyi Xu, a 17-year-old Chinese national who disappeared from a Barnet address on Wednesday, 4 January. Shuyi arrived alone at Heathrow Airport from China on 23 December and was last seen wearing a white jumper, black skirt, and white flats.

After arriving in London, Shuyi stayed at various addresses in east London, including Shoreditch and Whitechapel. On 29 December, Heathrow staff spotted her and alerted police, who took her into protection due to welfare concerns. She was then handed over to local authorities.

However, just days later, Shuyi went missing without a trace. Police have stated that there is currently no evidence of serious harm, but her welfare remains a significant concern.

Detective Inspector Daniel Branch said: “Shuyi speaks Mandarin and limited English. This was likely her first time in the UK, and she’s unfamiliar with London. We’re piecing together her movements and who she might have been with. I urge Shuyi or anyone who has seen her to get in touch immediately.”

If you have any information, please contact police on 101 quoting reference 23MIS000414.
