Police Hunt Owner of Car Packed with Thousands of Illegal Cigarettes

Sussex Police are on the trail of a mystery motorist after finding a red Citroën C3 stuffed with thousands of illegal tobacco products. The suspicious vehicle was parked on Grinstead Lane, Lancing, on Tuesday, March 24.

Massive Haul of Smokes and Rolling Tobacco Seized

Alerted by public tips, officers raided the car to uncover around 4,700 cigarettes and a hefty 5.8kg of hand-rolling tobacco. The tobacco is believed to be untaxed, signalling a major black-market tobacco bust.

No Arrests Yet – Police Want Your Tips

The stash and the car have both been taken by police. So far, no arrests have been made. Sussex Police are appealing for anyone who knows who owns the vehicle to come forward.
