Police are appealing for help to trace a 42-year-old man wanted in connection with allegations including strangulation, controlling and coercive behaviour and stalking. Devon and Cornwall Police are searching for Mitchel Adam Coton, who is from the Liskeard area of Cornwall. Officers have already carried out enquiries in an attempt to locate him and are now asking members of the public to report any sightings or information about his whereabouts. Police said Coton is wanted in connection with a reported assault involving strangulation, as well as allegations of controlling and coercive behaviour, stalking and criminal damage.
Public warned not to approach him
Coton is described as white, around 5ft 7in tall, of slim build and with dark brown hair. He has a pierced left ear and several distinctive tattoos. These include an eagle on his left arm, a star and a “YIN YAN” symbol on his right arm and a tribal tattoo on his back. Police have warned members of the public not to approach Coton if they see him. Anyone who sees him and believes the situation is urgent should call 999. Other information about his whereabouts can be reported to Devon and Cornwall Police by calling 101 and quoting Log 187 of August 10, 2026. The allegations remain under investigation.
