Firefighters battled a massive blaze that completely gutted a single-storey commercial workshop at Pinewood Studio. The building, measuring 75 by 20 metres, was 100% damaged in the fiery inferno, while a nearby second building suffered approximately 25% damage.
At the height of the emergency, 11 fire engines arrived on scene from multiple locations including Gerrards Cross, Langley, Slough, Beaconsfield, Hillingdon, Windsor, Tinkers Lane, Hayes, and Heathrow. Crews deployed four main jets and an aerial appliance to contain the flames effectively.
Support teams included a Control Unit, six fire officers, and a thermal imaging drone operated by Thames Valley Police, all working seamlessly together to manage the incident. The South Central Ambulance Service was on standby, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The intense firefighting operation began to wind down after 11.20pm. Four fire crews remained on site with a turntable ladder, while one appliance stayed until 8am the following morning, using thermal imaging cameras and hose reels to locate and extinguish stubborn hotspots.
Firefighters conducted thorough reinspection on Friday morning to ensure no embers were left smouldering. The site was finally handed back at around 1pm the next day.
Fire investigators have launched a probe to determine the cause of the devastating blaze at the Pinewood Studio workshop.
