Migrants flood into UK faster than they’re sent back under Labour’s shaky ‘One-in, One-Out’ deal with France.

‘One-In, One-Out’ Scheme in Chaos

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood finally admitted yesterday that Labour’s touted “one-in, one-out” deal is failing spectacularly. Since it kicked off in September, just 281 migrants have been returned to France while 350 got through to Britain.

That means more migrants are landing on UK shores than being sent back — totally undermining the deal’s aim.

In total, over 10,000 migrants have crossed the Channel in small boats since the scheme began, ignoring Labour’s promises to get a grip on the crisis.

Deportees Sneak Back, Exposing Flaws

Critics slam the plan after at least two deported migrants sneaked back into the UK — only to be nabbed and sent off once more. It’s proof the system’s leaking badly.

The deal was supposed to let Britain deport small boat migrants in exchange for accepting the same number of asylum seekers via legal channels. Instead, it’s more like a revolving door.

Home Office Blames ‘Logistical Delays’

Ms Mahmood defended the flop, blaming slow processing and deportation steps. “It started very small and slowly,” she claimed. “The French and we were concerned about whether we had the infrastructure to handle the pilot. The numbers will grow.”

Tories Tear Into Labour’s Border Chaos

Tory Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp didn’t hold back:

“The chances of an illegal Channel migrant being removed under this scheme is virtually zero. It’s no surprise illegal immigrants continue to flood across the Channel on this Home Secretary’s watch.”

Last year saw a staggering 41,472 migrants cross the Channel — the second-highest figure ever recorded.

New French Hurdle for Labour

Labour faces fresh troubles after France’s human rights watchdog banned police from using rubber bullets and tear gas to stop migrant crossings this week. That’s another blow to UK efforts to control small boat chaos.

However, French police did manage to intercept a smuggler’s so-called “taxi boat” this week, a rare win amid mounting challenges.
