Nonagenarian Seriously Hurt in North Yorks Car Smash

A man in his 90s is fighting for his life after being hit by a car in North Yorkshire on Monday evening. The shocking crash happened around 5:50pm on the A61 near the junction with Knox Mill Lane, between Ripley and Killinghall.

Pedestrian Hit After Leaving Bus

The elderly pedestrian was stepping off a bus when a northbound Ford Fiesta struck him. The Fiesta was heading towards Killinghall at the time.

The victim remains in a serious condition in hospital. Meanwhile, the Fiesta driver is fully cooperating with North Yorkshire Police, who have launched a major investigation into the collision.

Road Closure and Police Appeal

The A61 was closed for several hours to aid enquiries, reopening just before 2am on Tuesday morning.
