A man in his 40s died at the scene after his Renault Megane collided with a stationary lorry on the A12 last night.

The crash occurred shortly after 9.20pm on Monday 6 July, between junctions 15 and 16, near Three Mile Hill and Galleywood.

Emergency services quickly closed the northbound carriageway between the two junctions. The road closure lasted several hours while forensic teams examined the scene.

Motorists were advised to avoid the stretch to prevent further delays.

Essex Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward. Witnesses can contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting incident 1316 of July 6, or email [email protected].
