Major Isle of Wight Road Shut After Car Ploughs Into Field
Chaos on the Isle of Wight this morning as a car careered off the main Sandown to Newport road at Blackwater. The vehicle left the carriageway, hurtled over a bank, and ended up in a field.
Emergency Teams Rush to Scene
Emergency services scrambled to the scene outside Wight Building Materials. They are aiding an elderly man who has been rushed to hospital by Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
Road Closed with Severe Delays
The Sandown to Newport road remains closed in both directions. Police and recovery contractors are on site working to clear the wreckage, causing lengthy delays for motorists.
