M3 CLOSED Eastbound After Serious Crash in Surrey – Major Delays Expected
The M3 in Surrey is shut eastbound between Junction 2 (M25) and Junction 1 (A316/A308 Staines Road, Sunbury) following a serious collision. Drivers are advised to divert via M25 Junction 13, then take the A30 and A308 routes.
Crash Details and Road Closures
Surrey Roads Policing officers and Highways England traffic teams are at the scene. Police have also shut the slip road from the M25 clockwise at Junction 12 onto the M3 eastbound due to the incident.
Two lanes on the M3 eastbound are closed. The collision involves a silver Mercedes that struck the central reservation on the eastbound carriageway.
Emergency Services Respond
All emergency services rushed to the scene. Surrey Fire and Rescue crews from Camberley, Woking, and Staines were called just after 11:25am on Friday 13th April.
No one was trapped inside the vehicle. Fire crews secured the scene and have since returned to their stations.
M3 Closure Expected Through Rush Hour
At 12:50pm police confirmed the M3 remains fully closed northbound from the M25. They are working to clear the scene and reopen the road as soon as possible.
Officials say the closure should be lifted in time for rush hour traffic. Expect delays and plan alternative routes.
