Police in Leeds are urgently seeking a dangerous driver following a series of collisions caused by a blue Skoda Fabia last week. The vehicle left a trail of damage across several locations but, fortunately, no serious injuries occurred.
The incident began at approximately 8.40am on Thursday 12 February when the Skoda Fabia crashed into cars on Savins Mill Way before speeding off towards Kirkstall Road. Just five minutes later, at 8.45am, the same car caused another collision on Canal Road near Pickering Street while overtaking slow-moving traffic.
Refusing to stop, the driver then proceeded to drive the wrong way along the A61 heading towards the M621 Junction 4, colliding with multiple vehicles along the route. By 8.50am, the Skoda Fabia was involved in a further crash on Dewsbury Road in Beeston, where it flipped over after hitting a double-decker bus. The driver fled the scene on foot.
Inspector Claire Gray of the Roads Policing Unit commented on the incident: “This Skoda Fabia was driven in a dreadful and dangerous manner throughout Leeds. It’s lucky nobody was seriously hurt. We are doing everything to track down the driver.”
The male driver was last seen wearing a black puffa coat. Police are appealing to anyone with dashcam footage or information to contact them by calling 101 or via Live Chat, quoting police log 316 of 12 February.
