Last night, a massive blaze erupted at a swanky restaurant located on Pont Street in Belgravia, causing panic among diners and staff. Sixty firefighters and eight fire engines were dispatched to the scene to tackle the fierce fire.

Seven customers and six staff members managed to escape unharmed before the fire brigade arrived. Horrified diners were forced to evacuate amid thick smoke and searing flames, ensuring their safety despite the dangerous conditions.

The fire caused significant damage to the building’s basement and completely destroyed the extraction system that runs from the basement up to the roof. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus worked tirelessly to bring the inferno under control and prevent further destruction.

Crews from fire stations 123, Euston, Chelsea, and Fulham responded to the emergency. The investigation team from Fire 123 is currently probing the cause of the blaze to determine what sparked the fire.

During the evacuation, fire escape hoods were used to protect those nearby. These hoods are designed to shield against deadly gases such as carbon monoxide and hydrogen cyanide for up to 15 minutes, providing crucial protection during the emergency.
