A Havant teenager is currently fighting for his life after falling from a motorway bridge in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The 19-year-old sustained life-threatening injuries following a 30ft fall from the bridge over junction 4 of the A3(M) near Waterlooville.

Police and Highways England closed one lane of the A3(M) just before 1am after a passing motorist raised the alarm. Emergency services, including paramedics, firefighters, and police officers, responded immediately to the scene. The motorway remained closed until just after 4am.

The teenager was taken to the specialist head trauma centre at Southampton General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. A spokeswoman for South Central Ambulance Service said, “We were called at 00:53 to reports of a man who had fallen from a bridge over the A3(M). We sent an ambulance and rapid response paramedic. It is a Police-led incident.”

Local residents expressed shock following the incident. Authorities have not released any details about the circumstances of the fall as investigations continue.
