Chaos erupted on Barrington Road, Lambeth, this morning as a fierce blaze tore through two flats, sending firefighters rushing to the scene.
Two Flats Razed, Over 20 Residents Evacuated
At 8:05am, flames engulfed flats on the fifth and sixth floors, reducing them to wreckage. More than 20 residents fled the inferno, desperate to escape the smoke and heat.

Blaze Brought Under Control Within 90 Minutes
The London Fire Brigade’s Control Office was flooded with 23 emergency calls from 8:05am. Firefighters battled fiercely and had the fire contained by just after 9:30am.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
