Cumbria Firefighters Rescue Cow Stuck in Mud!
It wasn’t a usual blaze this weekend for Cumbria’s firefighters. Instead, crews from Keswick, Penrith, and Workington rushed to save a cow trapped deep in mud near Threlkeld.
Firefighters and Vets Join Forces for Muddy Rescue
The daring mission saw firefighters team up with vets, a large animal rescue crew, and the farmer. Using a mix of hardcore muscle and heavy machinery, the brave squad battled for hours to free the struggling bovine.
“Being a firefighter isn’t always glamorous! On Friday afternoon crews … were mobilised to a report of a cow in need of rescue after becoming trapped in mud,” said Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service.
Muddy Mess to Freedom After Tireless Effort
Thanks to the combined effort, the cow was finally freed and back on its feet — no doubt relieved to be out of the mud!
This quirky rescue shows that firefighters do more than battle blazes. From animal rescues to emergencies, it’s all in a day’s work for these lifesavers.
