Residents near St George’s Place in Canterbury are being urged to keep windows and doors shut after a huge blaze tore through an abandoned building.

Massive Fire Response Mobilised

Fifteen fire engines and two height vehicles were scrambled as firefighters battled the raging fire. Crews wearing breathing apparatus sprayed powerful hose jets into the heart of the flames. Large fans blasted smoke out of the building to help ventilate the choking fumes.

Road Closures and Traffic Chaos

A nearby road remains shut, sending traffic snarling across the area. Locals are warned to stay indoors and keep windows and doors sealed to avoid dangerous smoke inhalation.

“Please share this information with loved ones in the area who may not have internet access,” fire officials urged.

Firefighters Making Steady Progress

Crews are slowly gaining the upper hand, but residents should stay tuned for updates and keep safety measures in place.
