Car Blaze Erupts Outside Popular Isle of Wight Pub
Firefighters scrambled to douse a blazing Black BMW X5 outside the Hare and Hounds in Arreton this afternoon. The fire broke out at around 4.50pm, but thankfully, nobody was hurt.
Rapid Response to Fiery BMW
An Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said: “We were called at 4.40pm reporting a car on fire and sent one engine from Newport. Our crew arrived at 4.55pm to find the vehicle well alight.” Two firefighters quickly donned breathing apparatus and tackled the flames using two hose reels.
Severe Damage and Road Chaos
The blaze left the BMW severely damaged. The vehicle has now been handed over to the police for recovery. Meanwhile, traffic remains heavy as the police closed the road at the Arreton roundabout during the emergency response.
Commuters are warned to expect delays in the area as crews dealt with the aftermath of the fire.
