Rush Hour Chaos on Parkhurst Road

Eight people were hurt this morning in a nasty three-vehicle pile-up on Parkhurst Road, Newport. The crash, involving a car and a Southern Vectis Route 1 single-decker bus, sparked chaos during the busy 8.30am rush hour.

Serious Injuries and Road Closure

Police from Hampshire Constabulary shut down a large stretch of Parkhurst Road between St Mary’s Hospital and the Isle of Wight prison. A red Peugeot was left badly damaged in the collision. Seven casualties were treated right at the scene, while one was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital with serious injuries.
