Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to a house fire on Nelson Avenue in Sheerness at 6:35am on Sunday morning. Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke billowing from the windows of the property.
One firefighter, fully equipped with breathing apparatus, entered the burning house. Using a main jet and hose reel, the crew tackled the flames directly to control the fire.
Inside the property, firefighters found a man trapped and quickly rescued him. The South East Coast Ambulance Service took over his medical care after he was brought to safety. Fortunately, no other individuals were inside the house at the time.
Fire crews worked to surround the building and extinguish all remaining flames to prevent further damage.
At this time, authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire. Investigations are ongoing to establish what sparked the blaze.
