A man was taken to hospital after a collision with a bus in Portsmouth this afternoon. The crash happened just after 2pm at the busy Hilsea Roundabout.
The cyclist collided with a single-decker bus serving the Paulsgrove area. The South Central Ambulance Service’s Hazardous Area Response Team, along with two land ambulances, raced to the scene. Hampshire Police closed off a bus lane on the roundabout to manage the aftermath.
A Hampshire Police spokesperson confirmed the cyclist sustained minor injuries and was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham for further treatment.
Significant traffic build-up followed the incident as police directed vehicles through a single lane around the roundabout. All emergency units cleared the scene by around 3pm, restoring normal traffic flow.
