Crane Crashes Into Basingstoke House – Emergency Services Rush In
A dramatic incident shook Basingstoke, Hampshire, on Thursday morning as a crane smashed into a house. Emergency crews raced to the scene shortly after 9:30am to deal with the chaos.
One Person Rescued After Load Goes Wrong
The crane driver was lifting heavy wood and steel beams into the back of the property when disaster struck. Witnesses said the load looked too heavy from the very first lift.
“Even on the first lift, you could tell the load was too much,” said one onlooker.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue swiftly freed one person trapped after the crash. Thankfully, the homeowners were away at the time but had left a note asking anyone to call if there were any problems.
Alarm Sounds as Crane Struggles Under Weight
The crane’s alarm blared as the load began to slip, signalling trouble before the machine toppled into the property. Emergency services acted fast to prevent further damage or injury.
