Heroic Rescue of Cockapoo Luna Stuck on Dorset Cliff

Luna, a cockapoo, found herself stranded halfway down a cliff near Bridport, Dorset, triggering a dramatic 11-hour rescue mission. The poor pooch was trapped roughly 50 metres (164ft) below the top of Thorncombe Beacon, sparking a major emergency response.

Two-Day Drama Involving 40 Rescuers

Coastguard and fire crews jumped into action on Thursday evening to save Luna. But as darkness fell and the weather worsened, they were forced to call off the risky operation temporarily. Rescuers returned the next day with expert rope teams, painstakingly lowering themselves down both sides of the cliff to reach the stranded dog.
