London Fire Brigade rushed to a fire at a flat on the 13th floor of a 15-storey tower block on Grantham Road, Manor Park, this afternoon. Flames engulfed part of the apartment, causing significant concern for residents.

Approximately 60 people evacuated the building before firefighters arrived at the scene. The Brigade was alerted to the blaze at 2.47pm and dispatched crews from Ilford, Stratford, Leytonstone, Dagenham, and other nearby stations to tackle the fire.

London Fire Brigade’s 999 Control Officers received over 40 emergency calls reporting the fire. The cause of the blaze is currently unknown and under investigation.

This incident marks the Brigade’s third major fire response today, following earlier fires at a pub and another tower block in Hammersmith and Fulham.

“We are currently tackling the fire and ensuring everyone’s safety,” said a spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade.
