Ben Wazabanga, aged 23, was found guilty of the murder of 26-year-old Ayowale Aladejana in New Cross. The verdict was reached on Thursday, 11 June, by a jury at Southwark Crown Court after a thorough investigation.

The police investigation included analysis of CCTV footage and mobile phone data, which linked the killing to a financial dispute between the two former business partners.

The tension over money between Wazabanga and Aladejana escalated into violence. Evidence showed that Wazabanga armed himself with a knife before carrying out the fatal attack.

Authorities presented extensive CCTV recordings and mobile phone records during the trial, which demonstrated premeditation by Wazabanga in the murder.

Ben Wazabanga is scheduled to be sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on Monday, 13 July.
